Description
This is the ending of one of Watts' renderings on Psalm 50. Instead of being given a number, this verse is titled 'Epiphonema' -- presumably a misspelling of 'Epiphenomena'. The tune Symphony (p.151, The Sacred Harp, 1991) also uses a verse from this text.
Text
Sinners, awake betimes; ye fools, be wise;
Awake before this dreadful morning rise.
Change your vain thoughts, your crooked ways amend,
Fly to the Saviour, make the judge your friend.
Then join, ye saints, wake ev'ry cheerful passion;
When Christ returns, he comes for your salvation.
