Informal singing at Camp Fasola, Youth Emphasis, 2012
Led by Aldo Ceresa at an informal singing during the last night of Camp Fasola, Youth Emphasis, 2012, at Camp Lee in Anniston, Alabama. I had left camp with Lauren to head back to Atlanta and those who had attended the Composium earlier in the day met up to sing some more music.
Description
Inspired by the tune "Heavenly Meeting" in the Social Harp, I wrote a draft of this song in 2007. I revised the song considerably in November of 2009, reworking the tenor, completely rewriting the harmony parts, and settling on a 3-line format.
This song was sung informally at the Youth Emphasis session of Camp Fasola on July 5, 2012.
Text
What is it keeps me back,
From which I cannot part,
Which will not let the Saviour take
Possession of my heart?
Chorus:
I now believe in Thee,
Compassion reigns alone;
According to my faith in Thee,
O let thy will be done to me,
O let it, Lord, be done!
Searcher of hearts, in mine
Thy trying pow'r display;
Into its darkest corners shine,
And take the veil away.
Chorus.
