Olinville Avenue (Aldo, Jesse, Lauren, Kelsey, Anna 2008)
Description
Named for Olinville Avenue in The Bronx, home address of Jessie M, on whose computer the tune was initially written. The music was composed unusually quickly, March 27-29, 2007, with several important modifications and the text added afterward. This tune was sung at the Strathmore Center for the Arts Sacred Harp Singing Workshop in April, 2007, as well as by The Art Mob in their Winter, 2007 concerts.
Text
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne.
Then let our songs abound,
And ev’ry tear be dry;
We’re marching thro' Immanuel’s ground
To fairer worlds on high.
