Description
Named for the Edgewood neighborhood of Atlanta, GA, this tune was first sung at the home of Jesse Pearlman Karlsberg and Lauren Bock in October, 2010, along with its companion piece, Candler Park. (Jesse and Lauren reside near the border between the Edgewood and Candler Park neighborhoods.) It has been sung at the 2012 Camp Fasola Youth Session Composium, as well as by The Art Mob in their Winter, 2010 concerts. Edgewood appears on p. 66 of Northern Harmony, fifth edition (2012). A recording by the Northern Harmony touring ensemble appears on their Treasures Of Grace CD (2014).
Text
The cross of Christ inspires my heart,
To sing redeeming grace;
Awake, my soul, and bear a part
In my Redeemer's praise.
Was ever love so great as this?
Was ever grace so free?
This is my dear delightful theme,
That Jesus died for me.
