Oneida 8s & 7s

Named for Oneida, New York; longtime residence of Rev. Lewis Hartsough (1828-1919), musical editor of The Revivalist camp meeting songbook (Troy, NY; 1868), and author of the text. (Please see Round Lake and Hillman for other songs with connections to Hartsough and The Revivalist.) This tune was sung at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oneida as part of their Sunday worship service in August, 2008; and by Cantorae St. Augustine of St. Augustine, Florida in their May, 2011 concert.
