When favour'd John beheld
The visions of the Lord,
With admiration fill'd
He heard the Father's word.
Revealing what his purpose was
And what his love should bring to pass.
New heav'ns and earth we spy
With hearts of God inspired,
Which ancient prophecy
Foretold and saints desired.
That Jesus is this grace is true,
Where old things cease and all is new.
