Description

I wrote "Trembling Spirit" on March 5, 2018, in response to the "Tiny Tune Challenge" posted to the New Harmony group on Facebook to write a song that would fit in the space occupied by "Warning" (p. 213b in The Sacred Harp). Several singers had already contributed tunes, and I wanted to see whether I could write a fuging tune that would meet the challenge. It turns out I could!

Text

And am I born to die?
To lay this body down!
And must my trembling spirit fly
Into a world unknown?
